Bonsey Design has appointed Graham Hitchmough as its regional chief operations officer. According to the agency, this newly-created role is in response to the growing momentum of the business across multiple territories in the region, and a broadening range of products and services.
Hitchmough has been in Asia Pacific for over 12 years, and has been based in Singapore for the last decade. He was most recently CEO for Brand Union in Asia Pacific and prior to that held a number of senior roles with brand consultancies advertising agencies and corporate companies in Bangkok and London.
In his new role, Hitchmough will be able to apply his experience of the regional marketplace to augment the existing management team of Bonsey Design and its partner Bonsey Jaden. Hitchmough will be developing strategies for growth, collaboration, service development and client delivery across the businesses’ markets of operation and extending areas of expertise. Hitchmough joins the team as ot celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Hitchmough said, “Anyone who has been involved in the branding industry in this region over the last couple of decades will have heard of and have great respect for the Bonsey name. But what has really excited and attracted me is the drive to constantly reinvent,recalibrate and reorient the business to better meet client needs, to get the very best out of our talent and to act as a magnet for fresh talent and ideas.”
He added that while every network in town might talk a good game on agility and integration, “it’s a very different thing putting it effectively and profitably into practice and maintaining a strong challenger culture as an independent.”
Jonathan Bonsey, chief executive and creative officer, said that bringing Hitchmough onboard will add depth and strength to its strategy and design team and support the integrated service offer.
Having established a reputation in FMCG and consumer branding, in recent years Bonsey Design has also developed signature service branding programmes for Maybank, POS Malaysia, Cebu Pacific, FGV, Unionbank and Mediacorp. In 2014 Bonsey Design forged a partnership with Sydney-based digital agency The Jaden Group, to create Bonsey Jaden, a regional independent digital agencies and the last four years have seen the two businesses collaborate and grow with increasing potency across the region.
