Axiata Group promotes ex-marketing lead to president for its Indonesian arm

Axiata Group has appointed Dian Siswarini who was deputy chief executive officer, to president and director of the group’s Indonesian unit, PT XL Axiata Tbk. Prior to the role of deputy CEO, she was Axiata’s group chief of marketing and operation officer where her primary goal was to aid in the development of all of Axiata's operations.(Read also: Do marketers make good CEOs?)She has almost 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has worked across both the technology and ops verticles. In a press statement the company said that Siswarini (pictured) would be crucial to the growth of XL.Axiata president and group chief executive officer Jamaludin Ibrahim said: “Given her extensive experience in telecommunications, I am confident Dian is the right person to lead XL forward. Diversity and talent management is a key part of the Axiata strategy towards becoming a regional champion.”Siswarini started her career in 1991 and during 1996 until 2013 she joined XL with various key positions in network and engineering. In 2007 she was appointed as director of network and services which title was further changed into director/ chief technology.  Following the Company’s strategy development , she was further lead the  content and new business  as director/ chief digital services officer until 2013.
