ASICS Asia names Roy Lan its regional brand marketing manager

Japanese premium sports brand ASICS Asia has appointed Roy Lan (pictured) as its regional brand and product marketing manager. He reports directly to Yogesh Gandhi, managing director of ASICS Asia.A+M understands that he will be responsible for all brand and product marketing activities for three brands – ASICS, ASICS Tiger, and Onitsuka Tiger – across Southeast and South Asia, covering markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and India.Prior to this, Lan was the regional marketing manager at global sports brand, UA Sports SEA  for about one and a half years. At Under Armour, Lan was tasked to oversee all of its brand marketing activities for eight markets within Southeast Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and Brunei.Lan was a marketing executive at local isotonic drink brand, H-TWO-O, before joining RSH Limited (RSH) in June 2013 as a senior marketing executive in where he undertook marketing communications responsibilities for Reebok in Singapore.In less than a year, he was promoted to assistant marketing manager at RSH, responsible to oversee the sports division consisting of 14 brands including Reebok, Speedo, Saucony, Merrell, Wilson, Babolat, Sperry, Keds and Ipanema. In 2015, he took on the role of RSH's regional marketing manager, in which he helped to launch the fast-fashion brand, Old Navy, in Malaysia and Indonesia, in addition to its local sports portfolio.RSH is a multinational conglomerate, which gains exclusive retail rights to operate stores for fashion and active lifestyle brand names such as Zara, Ted Baker, Quiksilver and Billabong.
