Asian Food Channel builds up localised Vietnamese content

Scripps Networks Interactive has launched the Asian Food Channel into Vietnam.  The expanision into Vietnam marks the thirteenth country where the Asian Food Channel is being broadcast.According to Derek Chang, managing director of Scripps Network Interactive, Scripps works with several advertisers and partners regionally in Asia such as DBS and Resorts World Sentosa and with the launch of the channel in Vietnam, it looks to expand such working opportunities there with potential partners and current clients.When asked on the channels marketing plans, Chang said the channel partnered with like-minded brands that share a passion for food and lifestyle to produce original and localised content.Specifically for Vietnam, the network has engaged a local distributor "who understands the marketplace" and is currently working with them to create "enhanced experiences similar to those in other markets to highlight brand and content to viewers in Vietnam.""To build the channel, AFC reaches out to audiences through a range of on-ground and online initiatives that allow us to connect directly with fans. In other key territories,  AFC has collaborated with celebrity chefs for masterclass sessions and tours to promote unique gastronomical experiences in Asia," he added.The Asian Food Channel was launched in 2005, and broadcasts 24-hours a day, with a strong online following and social media presence. It targets adults aged between 25-54.
