Apple adds former WSJ editor to China PR team

Apple has hired former Wall Street Journal editor Wei Gu as new PR director in China, based out of its office in Shanghai.According to her LinkedIn profile, Gu joined the tech company in November.Gu has more than 18 years of experience across both broadcast and print media, including over a decade as a Reuters columnist in New York and Hong Kong.She spent the last four years as the Journal's wealth and luxury editor in China, and left her position in August. Before joining Apple, she was a freelance writer.The iPhone-maker has recently been recruiting talents from the media industry, including former reporter at The Verge Josh Lowensohn, Anandtech’s Anand Shimpi and Brian Klug, and TechCrunch’s writer Darrell Etherington who has since returned to his previous job.
