APB Singapore gets new marketing lead

Asia Pacific Breweries Singapore (APBS) has appointed Rene de Monchy as commercial head of marketing across its portfolio of brands as current lead Wong Mei Wai moves to head its marketing operations in Vietnam.

De Monchy will join APBS in November this year and Wong will begin in her role in December. Vietnam is currently Asia Pacific Breweries Limited’s (APBL) largest market and also the largest market for Tiger and Heineken beer.

Wong first joined APBL in 2001, where she held various marketing and commercial leadership positions across its portfolio of brands. In 2005 she moved to Fraser & Neave and headed up F&N’s food business.

Wong assumed her current role at APBS in 2009, where she led APBS’ portfolio of 16 brands.

De Monchy joins from DB Breweries in New Zealand where he was the consumer marketing manager, responsible for the full portfolio of DB’s brands which include Tui, DB Export, Montieth’s, Heineken and Tiger.
