Amway engages underprivileged children to give back

Amway Malaysia has hosted 65 children from four foster home, engaging them to produce artwork to be sold in benefit of victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.Among the company distributors, employees and affiliates, a total of USD11,000 was raised and donated to the Philippines Red Cross.The charity campaign was part of Amway’s Universal Children’s Day, which was celebrated globally for the brand. The one day event saw 94 distributors and volunteers, along with local performance arts group Hands Percussion teaching the children how to play drums.Siti Adibah Abdul Rahman, senior assistant director of the children’s division or the Selangor Welfare Department said that the outing was something different for the children.“It is the first time that the children can actively give back. It makes them feel they are part of something bigger, something good.”Amway Malaysia is a direct selling company. Its global initiative to give back to its communities has assisted over 10 million children under the Amway One by one Campaign for Children.
