American Express moves global brand work to mcgarrybowen from Ogilvy without a review

American Express has moved its global brand creative work from Ogilvy to mgarrcgarrybowen without a review, according to Ad Age.mcGarryBowen was brought on earlier this year without a review, said Leah Gerstner, VP of public affairs at American Express, Ad Age reported.“mcgarrybowen will be working with us on developing a new global brand platform that will bring together all of our brand and product-related work under one umbrella,” said an American Express spokesperson. “The new platform will capture the innovative work that is underway throughout our company and reflect the diversity of our business here in the U.S. and internationally.”Congratulations to @mcgarrybowen on winning the global consumer business for @AmericanExpress!— Dentsu Aegis Network (@dentsuaegis) June 9, 2017Dentsu Aegis Network posted a tweet on the win last week.The creative work, expected to roll out early next year, will represent all facets of Amex's business, including consumer, merchant and commercial products and services.Moving forward, American Express confirmed that the longtime creative partner Ogilvy “will be responsible for international execution and they will also continue with some of their current U.S. work,” but declined to elaborate on which portions of the business will stay with the WPP network.Ogilvy has worked with American Express in some capacity since 1962.
