AccorHotels expands Malaysian footprint with three hotels

AccorHotels plans to launch three hotels in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah this year, according to an article by Bernama.A+M has reached out to AccorHotels for more details on this expansion.In a statement to Bernama, Garth Simmons, COO, Malaysia-Indonesia-Singapore at AccorHotels explained that the new hotels would be located in Kota Kinabalu, Taiping and Kuala Lumpur.At the inaugural opening of Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade Hotel in Pudu, he said that two mid-scale boutique hotels, Novotel Hotel in Taiping and Mercure Hotel in Kota Kinabalu will be launched in May and June respectively. Budget hotel Mercure Kuala Lumpur Selangor will be launched in the third quarter of 2017.According to Bernama, the hotel has been built at the cost of RM122 million. The hotel is connected to the Shaw Parade Shopping Complex.
