9/11 ad sparks death threats

Taking advantage of the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a Wisconsin golf course, Tumbledown Trails has happily, and insensitively, advertised nine holes of golf for $9.11 to mark the occasion. This resulted in the public slamming the ad and accusing the business for trying to make profits off the deaths of 9/11 victims. The club has since received death threats as well. The incident runs like a clear "what not to do" for companies and tragic occasions.Tumbledown Trails had since apologised for the $9.11 rate on its Facebook page, which currently has been deactivated.According to International Business Times, the company posted on its Facebook page that it "would first like to apologize to everyone that we have upset or feels we have disrespected in anyway" as it was not the club's intention. Here's what the post said:BBC also reported that the discount was not new and had been running for three years. But its apology seems a little mixed, as Marc Watts, the club's owner also told the Associated Press: "We're a little hurt by the fact that people are putting such a negative context on this.""I thought people would appreciate it," he said.
