An aspiring young marketer and budding musician from Spain mistook Google AdWords for AdSense while attempting to make a profit off his brass band videos. The mistake ended up costing about €100,000 (HK$863,000), but Google has waived the fees.“It was all a mistake and that he did it without thinking”, a Google spokesperson stated on Wednesday. "A 12-year-old boy doesn't want to start spending €100,000."Jose Javier, the unfortunate boy in question, had intended to buy new instruments for his band with the profits, but instead ended up paying per click on his shared links, his mother told Spanish news agency El Pais. The parents had given the boy his own savings account to learn about money, which he then promptly used to mistakenly sign up for AdWords. On the positive side, his plans to make his band 'Los Salerosos' famous may have actually worked out due to the sheer amount of free publicity the mistake has generated, both on social media, and mainstream media such as the BBC and The Guardian.
